7+ discounting · 2 charge again on passing

The list price is not the price

The number on a futures evaluation is wrong in both directions. A promotion pulls it down, and on this field a promotion is closer to the normal state than an event. An activation fee pushes it back up after you have passed, and it is on nobody's pricing tile.

This site records the list price. That choice is worth explaining, because it means the figures on our own tables are higher than what you would pay today.

Downward: at least 7 of 22 were discounting when read

What this does not say. It does not say 7 of 22 firms were discounting and 15 were not. For those 15 nothing was recorded either way — a promotion is only in this list when the reading captured one. The honest reading is at least 7, and the real figure can only be higher than that, never lower.

The recorded discounts run from 40% to 55%. A promotion written down as the price stops being true the day it ends, and a table of expired sale prices is worse than a table of list prices — so the list price is what this site keeps. Read every price here as a ceiling.

Upward: passing can cost again

Charges to activate

  • Elite Trader Funding The evaluation renews every thirty days, and passing costs again: activation is "$177.00" once at $50K and "$247.00" at $100K, or $87 a month.
  • Goat Funded Futures Activation is $99 list, shown at $0, and a reset is $59.

States there is no fee

  • Lucid Trading No activation fee on passing, which several futures firms here do charge — Elite ask $177 at $50K and Apex give seven days to pay or lose the pass.
  • TradeDay No activation fee on passing.
  • The5ers Futures The fee is refunded on the third payout rather than on passing, and there is no activation fee.

Depends which price you buy

  • Topstep Two prices per size, and the cheaper one is not the cheaper route: $49, $99 and $199 a month on the standard path, against $95, $149 and $229 on the path with no activation fee.

Neither column fits a firm that sells the same account at two prices, one of which includes the fee. The cheaper monthly figure is the dearer route if you pass.

Where a figure is published it is not small: $177 on Elite Trader Funding’s $50,000, $247 on Elite Trader Funding’s $100,000. Two evaluations at the same advertised price can therefore cost different amounts to finish.

One claim this page refuses to repeat

One firm's rules here describe a competitor's activation terms directly, naming a fee. That firm may well be right. It is still a rival's account of someone else's pricing, and this site records what each firm publishes about itself — so the competitor is not in the left-hand column above, because its own recorded rule says the pass lapses without naming a charge.

It is a small thing that decides whether a table is a reading or a repetition of marketing.

And the price of trying again

On a monthly plan there is often no reset to buy: the subscription continues and the cost of failing is another month rather than another fee. Which of those is cheaper depends entirely on how long you take — the break-even is here.

Questions

Do futures prop firms always have a discount running?
A discount was visible on 7 of the 22 firms read here at the moment of reading — Funded Futures Network, Goat Funded Futures, FundedNext Futures, UProfit Trader, TradeDay, For Traders Futures, E8 Futures. For the other 15 nothing was recorded either way, so the true number is at least 7 and cannot be read as 7 out of 22. Paying list price on this field is close to a mistake.
Is there a fee after passing a futures evaluation?
At some firms, yes. Elite Trader Funding and Goat Funded Futures charge to activate the funded account, and Lucid Trading, TradeDay, The5ers Futures each state they do not. Topstep sell the same account at two prices, only one of which includes the fee — so the cheaper headline is the dearer route if you pass. The fee is not on the pricing tile at any of them, so two evaluations at the same advertised price can cost different amounts to complete.
What does it cost to retry a failed futures evaluation?
Where a reset price was recorded it runs from $47 to $59, and one firm includes resets at no charge. On a monthly plan there may be no reset to buy at all — the subscription simply continues, which is a different shape of cost.
Why does this site publish list prices rather than sale prices?
Because a promotion recorded as the price stops being true the day it ends, and a table of expired sale prices is worse than a table of list prices. The list price is the one figure that is still meaningful in six months. Assume you will pay less.
