$50K · 9 monthly · 9 one-time · same $3,000 target
The cheapest firm depends on how long you take
At $50K, Topstep charge $49 a month and Leeloo Trading charge $635 for a month. That is 13×, for a product asking the same $3,000 profit target with a drawdown that differs by a few hundred dollars.
And the ranking does not hold still. Topstep is the cheapest thing in this field at one month and at two. By three, The5ers Futures has overtaken them without changing its price, because it never charged a second one.
Who is cheapest, by how long it takes
| If the attempt takes | Cheapest | Dearest |
|---|---|---|
| 1 month | Topstep $49 | Leeloo Trading $635 |

| 3 months | The5ers Futures $100 | Leeloo Trading $635 |
| 6 months | The5ers Futures $100 | Elite Trader Funding $1,242 |
2 different firms are the cheapest option depending only on the calendar, and 2 are the dearest. Nothing about the products changes between these rows.

A subscription with no deadline has no ceiling
Most of these evaluations have no time limit at all. On the half that charge once, that is unambiguously good news: take as long as you like and the price is the price.
On the half that renew, the same sentence means the cost of a slow attempt is unbounded. Six months at $207 a month is $1,242, which is more than the dearest one-time fee in the field and nearly ten times the cheapest.
So “no time limit” is a feature on one price model and a cost on the other, and it is advertised identically on both.
What this does not measure
- · How long an attempt actually takes. The horizons are hypothetical. The point is that the ranking changes across them, not that any one of them is typical.
- · Activation fees. Several of these charge again when you pass — Elite ask $177 at this size — and none of it is in the columns above.
- · Resets. A failed attempt restarts the clock on a subscription and costs a fresh fee on a one-time plan, and the reset prices differ from the evaluation prices.
- · Whether the products are equivalent. They are not. The drawdown column is a reminder: same target, different room, and how the limit moves differs again.

Questions
- What is the cheapest futures prop firm?
- It depends on how long the attempt takes, and the answer changes inside three months. At $50K, Topstep charges $49 a month and is the cheapest in the field for a fast pass. The5ers Futures charges $100 once and is cheaper from month 3.
- Why do some futures firms charge monthly and others once?
- Both models are common: 9 of the 18 priced plans at $50K renew monthly and 9 are bought once. A subscription prices the attempt by how long it takes; a one-time fee does not. The same evaluation, sold two ways, and the difference only shows up in the calendar.
- How much does a $50,000 futures evaluation cost?
- Between $49 and $635 for the first month, across 18 firms asking the same $3,000 profit target. That is 13× from end to end for a product whose published rules differ by a few hundred dollars of drawdown.
- Does a monthly fee mean the evaluation has a deadline?
- Not usually. Most of these have no time limit at all — the subscription simply renews until you pass or stop. Which is exactly why the cost of a slow attempt is unbounded on one half of this field and fixed on the other, and why the comparison cannot be made on the sticker.
